BSL Day - Schools
The British Deaf Association once again invites your school to Learn British Sign Language!
The BDA is continuing to promote British Sign Language (BSL) through our new campaign ‘BSL Day’. Your school may have taken part in our previous campaign ‘Learn to Sign Week’ which has now been replaced with ‘BSL Day’.
- Want to learn British Sign Language?
- Want to take part in BSL Day?
The BDA’s BSL Day events will be held throughout March 2012, and are an ideal opportunity for school children and teachers to get involved, develop new language and communication skills in a fun and interactive way and to take part in fundraising activities.
We have produced a NEW exclusive DVD packed with BSL phrases and fun learning resources that your school can use to learn BSL. The BDA is offering this amazing NEW DVD resource to all schools. The DVD allows teachers to be flexible in how and when BSL is taught and can also be used to support your fundraising activities; such as a finger-spell-athon or sponsored silence.
In return for the DVD we are asking that each school fundraises a minimum of £100 for BSL Day. If you wish we can also send you BSL Day Campaign Ribbons, free of charge, which you can sell for £1 each to assist with your fundraising. There will be a star prize presented to the top fundraising school!
If your school chooses to join in, fill in the registration form on the above link and we will post you a BSL Day DVD which will have everything you need and help you to learn all the signs.
