Hello, I’m the Deaf Roots and Pride Mentoring Officer for North East. This is a job advertisement for several positions from the BDA.
Mentors – North East (Newcastle to Stockton)
We are looking for motivated & enthusiastic people to join the Deaf, Roots and Pride Team! This is your chance to change Deaf children and young people’s lives for the better.
From experience, Deaf young people who had mentors were empowered to develop and gained confidence after about six months, it WILL be a rewarding experience to see how young people change from being very shy at the beginning of mentoring until the end of the relationship where you recognise how confident and proud they are as deaf young people, it is an incredible feeling.
