British Deaf News
Founded in 1955, British Deaf News is one of the most widely read publications in the Deaf community across the UK. This national monthly full-colour magazine is aimed at members of the British Deaf community who like to keep their fingers on the pulse.
British Deaf News provides information on all the up-and-coming events taking place in the local Deaf community, BDA organised events, social and educational opportunities where Deaf people can meet to socialise and interact with one another using their native communicative language – British Sign Language (BSL).
Each month features 44 packed pages of exciting articles, topical items, interviews, reports, a research column, news from around the UK, competitions and more. Well-respected regular contributors include BazzaDeaf, Marie Dimond (Between Two Cultures), along with world news by Shane Gilchrist and Alvean Jones (Wandering through the Deaf World) and Philippa Merricks, EUDY President, (View from the President). Add to this our very own Sports Editor, Brian Kokoruwe (Director of Deaf UK Athletics), who brings the very latest each month from the Deaf sporting world. We also welcome articles, news and comments from our readers.
