Calling all Volunteers!

As with any major congress or conference, without volunteers they are difficult to make happen.

We, the BDA, are looking for “Congress Makers” (Volunteers) who want to be play an important role in our Congress. We can assure you that it will be full of fun! You will be part of history and you will be able to say you participated in our exciting 125 year congress. Remember, there will never be another congress like this.

We are looking for Congress Makers to help out from Wednesday 20th July 2016 (mid-day) until Sunday 24th July 2016 (mid-afternoon). Duties will include entrance security, registration, sign-posting, information and advice, and any other activity that might be required to assist in the smooth running of the Congress.

So, yes we need you!

We will cover the costs for hotel accommodation, travel and entry to the congress for all of our volunteer ‘Congress Makers’.

As this is a BDA event, which will mainly be attended by Deaf sign language users, we are looking for Congress Makers who are confident in using British or Irish Sign Language.

Interested?

If so, then please apply.

Closing date is 15th April 2016.

Please send us your CV (which should outline your experience of volunteering or similar activities) and tell us why you would like to become a Congress Maker. You also need to include two references.

As part of the process, for those who are successful, we will undertake a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check; by applying, you have agreed for us to carry out this check.

Those who are successful in gaining a place as a ‘Congress Maker’ will also be required to sign a volunteer agreement. You may be required to attend one day training prior to the congress.
