Are you a Deaf business owner? Are you thinking about setting up your own business to sell products? We need you!

The British Deaf Association will be hosting our 125th Congress which will take place in Torquay, Wednesday 20th to Sunday 24th July 2016.

This event will give delegates an opportunity to celebrate their identities and celebrate sign languages (British Sign Language and Irish Sign Language). The congress theme is ‘Back to Our Future’

To ensure that the congress is able to capture a sense of celebration and pride, we have decided not to run an exhibition space and instead will replace it with something really exciting. We are naming this space the ‘Sign Language Market Place’. This is an amazing opportunity for local and national businesses to come and sell their products!

If you have been wanting to set up your own business, this is an amazing opportunity for you to have a go and see if it is something that you would like to develop further.

The market place will be open from Thursday 21st to Saturday 23rd July 2016.

We are looking for people to sell various products e.g. paintings, crafts (such as keyrings etc), cards, clothing, books or anything that you would like people to buy.

There is enough space for 70 different businesses to sell their products.

The price for a space in the market place is £150 and includes the space for three days, entry to the congress, including both the opening and closing ceremonies.

If you would like to discuss this more, please email Jeff Brattan-Wilson at 125yearmanager@bda.org.uk
