Coventry & Warwickshire Association for the Deaf (CWAD) is seeking to appoint an experienced manager to successfully fulfil the above post.

The key roles and responsibilities of the post are to develop the financial, strategic, operational and services of both Coventry and Warwickshire Sign Language Interpreting Service (CWSLIS) and The Henry Fry Community Centre (HFCC).

Under the remit of CWAD, the CWSLIS is a small organisation that provides high-quality sign language interpreting and related services for deaf people. The HFCC is run by CWAD to provide both a space and services for deaf community, Both key services require a motivated, energetic, creative and inspirational individual to drive, lead and manage a small team of staff and volunteers through positive and progressive change.

The post is a pivotal role in which you will be required to seek new sources of funding for existing and new services and develop new business opportunities. You will use your research skills to plan, develop and write fundraising proposals and you will be able to negotiate effectively with the service's main funding bodies and customers, and increase regular day to bookings across both core services.

The successful applicant will ideally have experience of public sector commissioning and procurement processes (local government and/or health), management experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong strategic focus.

The post is a three year fixed term contract, which may be extended subject to the success of the appointed applicant and future funding. You will be expected to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service. You will be based in the CWSLIS office in Coventry city centre, although it is anticipated that your base will move to HFCC (also in the city centre).

You will report directly to the CWAD Board and be supported by a Trustee nominated by the Board.
