The Transition Officer will be responsible for working with the Deaf Roots and Pride team to assist with the continued development and implementation of their four-year programme. The successful candidate will be an individual who is passionate about promoting the BDA, enjoys working with young people and has experience (or knowledge) of transition programmes, the remit and role of the Health and Social Care trusts, and the Education System in Northern Ireland. The role will involve working closely with schools, education boards and other Deaf organisations to support young Deaf people between the ages of 8-20 yrs.
Successful candidates will have an excellent working knowledge of all aspects of Deaf Issues,
Candidates should have experience of managing projects, budgets and the preparation of reports for funding bodies. Applicants must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to use their initiative.
